Artist Talk
Kim Ah Sam is Kuku Yulanji and Kalkadoon artist based in Brisbane. Her work expresses her deep connection to country and her cultural identity through a unique and prolific approach to weaving. She is an experienced fibre artist and weaving workshop teacher engaging in collaborative making. She has completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art (CAIA) at Griffith University and was recently artist-in-residence 2020-2021 at Museum of Brisbane as part of The Storytellers exhibition. Her work is held in Museum of Brisbane collection among other public and private collections.
