Jack is a 24 y/o artist based in Meanjin/Brisbane exploring themes of identity & environment, predominantly through a playful approach to painting. He largely takes inspiration from ignorant art styles and internet subcultures, usually hopping around oils, acrylics and spray paints. His work sees influences from artists such as Rose Wylie, Gabrielle Graessle and Peter Matthews, with a common-thread of de-skilling and often using words to develop narrative. Jack’s overall aim in his work is a sense of returning to innocence, with the hope to establish relatability among viewers.
